About

Shutter-life is Henrik Johansson - photographer, researcher and master of adaptivity

This is the place where I write about my photography. I plan to not only publish photos, my aim is to also tell the story behind them. I feel that this aspect is often missing in many photo blogs. When I see an incredible photograph, a number of questions immediately pop up. Where and when was the photo taken? How was it taken? How did the photographer think before the shot? How was the photo post processed? That are questions like these I’ll try to answer.

You can also find my photography over at Zooomr, Flickr, Imagekind, and Photrade. I’m also planning to add a gallery section when I find a suitable (working) theme.

Current equipment:

  • Canon 5D
  • Canon G9
  • Canon 17-40/4L
  • Canon 24-105/4L
  • Canon 50/1.4
  • Canon 70-200/4IS
  • Canon 100/2.8 Macro
  • Lensbaby 2.0
  • Canon 580EXII
  • Sigma EM-140DG

I have previously also used both both the Pentax K100D and the Canon 40D with various lenses.

To support my photography, I’m pursuing a PhD degree in Scientific Computing. If you ever need to know something about adaptive solvers for partial differential equations, I’ll happily help you out! For more about my research, please visit my web page at Uppsala University.

Generally, my photos are licensed as Creative Commons, Attribution-Noncommericial. If you are uncertain of the meaning of the Creative Commons license, please ask me before using any of my photos.
